Quick Tips:

About Us - be sure to include as much detail as possible in this section. Include hours, store policies, and anything else that you think might attract customers.

Address Field - before entering the address field, go to Google Maps and test the address to make sure that it is recognized. No map will be produced in your listing if the address is incorrect.

Website - if you don't have a website, just leave this blank.

First Steps to List Your Bookstore or Ongoing Book Sale:

Register as a member of Happy Dead Trees. Register Here. 

After registration is complete, log in to Happy Dead Trees and hold your cursor over the Book Sales tab in the main menu bar. A drop-down list will appear, choose Bookstores.

On the Bookstores page choose Add New Item in - Bookstore Directory. (There are several other ways to find the link to add your bookstore - any one of them will work just fine.)

Step-by-Step Instructions About How To Fill in the Form:

Store Name - for-profit stores will probably just want to enter their store name. However, if your store is located within a library, or associated with a library, you may want to enter something like; The Book Cellar from XYZ Library.

Category - this is where you choose the State in which your store is located. You will also have to enter the state again further along in this form. This seems redundant, but this is the only way we could figure out how to get the State name in both spots where we need to have it show up.

Shop Photo - not required, but it may help your listing stand out from the crowd. Please try to reduce the size of the photo file prior to upload. Pictures are re-sized automatically, but a really massive file cannot be re-sized and will not be uploaded.

State - see, told you this would be required again.

County - we ask you enter the county so people can search for your bookstore based on the county in which it is located.

City - bet you can figure this one out for yourself.

Type of Store - make the best choice possible from the drop down list. If you think we need more choices please email us via the contact us link which can be found at the top and bottom of every page.

Volumes in Stock - choose the closest match from the choices available in the drop down menu.

About Us - this is the spot to add information about pricing, specialties, donation or purchasing policies, etc. Add anything that might entice customers to go to the trouble of overcoming intertia and driving to your shop.

Store Location - please fill in the address field carefully and test the exact address in Google Maps prior to submitting your bookstore listing. If there is a mistake in the address, instead of getting a lovely map to enhance the beauty and utility of your listing, you will end up with an ugly error message, and nobody wants to see that.

Website Address - if you have a website enter the url here. If you don't have a website, leave this blank.
