The Kids' Short Story Contest is open to anyone 18 or under. Entries are searchable by age and the best stories in each age group will receive awards. The rules for the Kids' Short Story Contest can be found here. Please read them very carefully. If you are 13 years old or younger, you must submit your story through an account set up by an adult. You are not eligible to win a prize if the contest rules are not followed. Cash prizes in this category total $1000.

I rode my bike away from it all. That purple Schwin carried me away from my apartment, away from my parents money problems, away from my life. I rode all the way to central park, down the road less traveled. Then I saw her. Her beauty and grace smacked me in the face. It was a beautiful dancer. It all started when I was walking home from school.  I spotted a plain old hat lying on the road. It wasn’t just an old hat; it looked like a punk hat. Well, yeah it looked like a punk Hat and if it were a punk hat it would belong to a Punk. I looked around for people with dyed red hair destroying cars with guitars. Then I looked for Police. If you don’t know why it’s because…well, for Pete’s sake if you saw a person beating a car with a guitar what would you do? Yeah, call the police!!!!!
