Carl Sandburg January 6, 1878 to July 22, 1967 Born in Galesburg, Illinois & Died in Flat Rock, North Carolina Poet, historian, novelist, biographer, two time winner of the Pulitzer Prize. A huge figure in American literature of the early 20th century.
