Nick Hornby
April 17, 1957
Born in Redhill, Surrey, England
Novelist and essayist who has been astoundingly well served by the film adaptations of his novels, High Fidelity and About a Boy. Hornby really is quite gifted.
Quote

James Branch Cabell
April 14, 1879 to May 2, 1958
Born in Richmond, Virginia & Died in Richmond, Virginia
My knowledge of James Branch Cabell amounts to a couple of quotes. I am going to read a few of his books and see if his style holds up over the length of a novel. Thus far, I have not come across a page of his writing that didn't have at least three or four quotable lines. Who could resist trying a writer who managed to write a quotable line incorporating the work auk?

Author and illustrator with a distinctive and sometimes disturbing style. Philistines - like me - confuse him with Charles Adams.
