Shirley Jackson December 14, 1916 to August 8, 1965 Born in San Francisco & Died in North Bennington, Vermont Jackson is most widely known for her short story, The Lottery, but the unique voice of The Lottery is apparent throughout all her writing. She filled her stories with tiny details that make the strangest events seem disturbingly plausible. She was the master of the weirdly mundane.
Quote "I have often thought that with any luck at all, I could have been born a werewolf, because the two middle fingers on both my hands are the same length, but I have had to be content with what I had."
