Edith Hamilton August 12, 1867 to May 31, 1963 Born in Dresden, Germany & Died in Washington, District of Columbia Great popularizer of ancient Greek and Roman history and life. Her book, Mythology, is still an excellent introduction to the subject. Quote "To live is to suffer and the only solution to the problem of life is to suffer with courage."
