Arthur C. Clarke December 16, 1917 to March 19, 2008 Born in Minehead, England & Died in Colombo, Sri Lanka Inventor and impressively productive author of science fiction novels. Best known for the novel, 2001, A Space Odyssey, and for the Kubrick directed movie of the same name.
