Pearl S. Buck (birth name Pearl Comfort Sydenstricker) June 26, 1892 to March 6, 1973 Born in Hillsboro, West Virginia and Died in Danby, Vermont Pulitzer Prize winner, Nobel Laureate, and a unique voice. In 2004 she received Oprah Winfrey's official blessing. Too bad she reached the pinnacle of her career so many years after her death.
